Andrew Gibbs was born and raised in Fairview, Tennessee. He attended Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville. Andrew is part of four generations of Gibbs to graduate from the prestigious all-boys private school.
Gibbs played football and soccer at MBA. In 2006, he was elected captain of the football team by his peers.
Also in '06, he began to become interested in writing as a career path. He wrote for the school newspaper and won the award for the best sports article his senior year.
Gibbs is known for his obsession over the New Orleans Saints. His father Boyd Gibbs began attending the annual New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in 1983. The tradition has continued as Andrew has attended 19 consecutive Jazz Fests. The family has adopted the music, food, and the Saints as they consider the Crescent City to be a second home.
Currently, Andrew is a sophomore Journalism Electronic Media major. Combining his passions of writing and sports, Gibbs hopes to enjoy a successful career in sports journalism. His aspirations include writing for ESPN The Magazine and starting his own sports magazine.
