Amy Carlson is the daughter of a local church pastor and has lived in various places throughout the southeast.  She graduated from Trinity Christian Academy in Jackson, TN, just a few weeks before moving Maryville.

Amy is majoring in Journalism and Electronic Media with a minor in History and Theater.  One day, she hopes to intern (maybe work for) a teen girls Christian magazine (like Brio in Colorado).  But her "dream" job is working with high school students in a rural area and teach them writing, (through experience) history and theater; through this, Amy wants to invest in her students' lives and help them achieve their life goals.  On the side, she wants to write her own ficition novels.

Some of the activities Amy is involved in include her church's college ministry, various life-changing mission trips, BCM (the UT chapter), reading and writing her own stories.  She is also employed by a local school board as an afterschool day care teacher where she works with kids ranging from preschool to middle school; she assists them in reading, spelling and math, as well as, organizes group games for them to play.
