Lucy Courtney is a senior majoring in Journalism and Electronic Media.  She grew up in Houston, and after completing her last two years of high school in Ireland, Lucy began her undergraduate studies at the University of Texas.  She soon decided to postpone college to travel and work, and spent the next few years alternating a career as a preschool teacher with international travel.  After traveling in 17 countries, on four continents, Lucy decided to move to Knoxville, Tenn. in order to finish her bachelor's degree at the University of Tennessee.  She will graduate in December 2008, and plans to begin a master's program the following fall.
