Austin Baird is currently a sophomore at the University of Tennessee majoring in Journalism and Electronic Media with tracks in Sports and News, also minoring in English.
In his first semester as a freshman at UT, he began reporting for the sports section of the Tennessee Journalist. After nearly five months working in the sports section, he helped create the Politics section and has since focused the majority of his time with the site as the section editor covering political news relevant to college students.
Outside of his duties with the Tennessee Journalist, Austin serves as the NCAA Sports Director for the Most Valuable Network, MVN.com. In the summer of 2008, he also worked as an intern for United States Senator Saxby Chambliss in his hometown of Atlanta, Ga.
When he graduates, he will either pursue a career in a major sports market (as a journalist or front office staff), or he will work towards a career in international politics.
