The Circus Extravaganza to benefit Breakthrough Corporation, a local not-for-profit company, will take place Thursday, April 25 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 27 at 7 p.m. at Breakthrough Corporation Activity Center located at 1805 Maryville Pike, Knoxville, TN.

Performers for this occasion include aerialists, jugglers, stilt walkers, cyclists, hoop twirlers, tight-wire walkers and the Groundswell Circus Band. These performers are donating their time and efforts to further the cause of Breakthrough Corporation.

Breakthrough Corporation’s goal is to improve the lives of adults with autism by providing them with various services. Money raised from this event will be used to renovate the warehouse where this event takes place and turn it into an oasis for adults with autism.

"Circus for me works on a lot of different levels: physical performance, magic and community building," said Jake Weinstein, a performer and teacher for One World Circus and Dragonfly Aerial Arts Studio.

Weinstein emphasized the mutually beneficial relationship between the performers and Breakthrough Corp. The two groups support each other through fundraising and the use of the warehouse space. During last year’s Circus Extravaganza, Weinstein said that the performers were able to share their talents with people new to circus acts, including those from Breakthrough.
