UT’s School of Advertising and Public Relations will host Social Media Week April 2-4. Presentations, discussion and workshops will be held in the Scripps Lab in the Communications building and in Latitude 35, a downtown Knoxville restaurant.

Each discussion will take a different approaches to teach guests about the importance of social media and how to use it successfully. Anyone who is interested in learning more about social media is welcome to attend, free of charge.
Social Media experts from across the nation, as well as Advertising and Public Relations agencies in the Knoxville area will be leading discussions about social media.
Featured guests include the social media coordinator from the Atlanta Falcons, senior director of brand communications for Nike and several UT alums with expertise in marketing and social media.
“With an outstanding lineup of presentations, panels, and interactive sessions featuring top social media professionals from across the U.S., the event will provide our students, faculty and the Knoxville community with a great opportunity to gain leading edge knowledge about the uses and impacts of social media,” said Mike Wirth, dean of UT's College of Communication and Information.
This will be UT’s second Social Media Week. Last year’s session was sponsored by Dell, and featured many hands on workshops for students to learn more about Social Media.
