The residents of Hess Hall get together to grill hamburgers and hot dogs. Hess Hall puts on special events seldomly to bring the residences together.
At the barbecue students gathered together to discuss what they love most about Hess.
"I like the fact that Hess is clean. Even though there are community showers, it's still really clean," says resident Electra Conway.
"I like how I don't ever have to clean the bathroom," says Kristen Reindel.
"Hess Hall is the perfect "transition" dorm, freshmen get the chance to live on their own but also have the luxury of someone else cleaning the bathrooms."
The cleaning staff here at Hess Hall is fabulous. They spend hours making sure that the facility is clean as well as the bathrooms and the court yard.

"A lot of my closest friends I have met in Hess, most of them even live on my floor which is the best because I always have someone to talk to or hang out."
The barbecue was one of many events that Hess puts on to bring all of the students in the hall closer.
"I like how there are a lot of activities where we can meet other freshmen living in Hess." Brittany Campbell, Hess resident tells us.
The Resident Assistants here at Hess are always thinking of new fun ideas for the students.
In the past there have been ice cream socials, barbecues, salsa parties and many other events that help keep the students at Hess occupied.
"The best way to get all of the Hess Hall residents together is to supply food, what kind of student doesn't want free food." Lauren Mitchell, Hess hall resident says.
