Looking for a summer job and a chance to practice skills learned in the classroom? Visit the Summer Job and Internship Fair on Feb. 10.

Career Services will be hosting the fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the University Center ballroom.

"In some fields, internship experience is practically a requirement," DeAnna Bonner, assistant director of Career Services, said.

More than 50 companies and organizations are expected attend the event. This is a campus wide event with opportunities for everyone in every major.

Make sure you know which companies are interested in your major, and have your resumes ready.
DeAnna Bonner, assistant director of Career Services

Some companies slated to attend include Tennessee Valley Authority, Target, Knoxville Zoological Gardens and the Disney College Program.

For students unable to attend the program, contact Career Services to schedule an appointment with the appropriate consultant. Another available resource is Hire-A-Vol, a Web site with job postings from employers looking for UT students and information regarding upcoming workshops, job fairs and employer visits.

"However, there really is no substitute for attending the fair," Bonner said. "Just come prepared and do your homework. Make sure you know which companies are interested in your major, and have your resumes ready."
