The Issues Committee is welcoming Wesley Clark, a retired general of the U.S. Army, to campus Feb. 9. The event will be held in Cox Auditorium at 7:30 p.m.

Clark will speak to students and faculty through his presentation, "United States Military, Military Politics, War and the Media."

Clark graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and was the recipient of the Rhodes Scholarship to the University of Oxford.

He served in the Army for 34 years and earned the rank of general, as well as many other military decorations. Clark was also a candidate for the Democratic Party presidential nomination in the 2004 presidential race.

With a long history in politics and the military, Clark's lecture is to better educate students on the happenings in today's military and the politics that go along with it.

Clark's lecture is free and open to the public.
