Victor Ashe will be speaking at the Howard Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Ashe's speech is titled, "Eastern Europe's Role in the 21st Century."
This is the second speech this month that Ashe is giving as part of the Baker Center's Ambassodorial Lecture Series. This lecture is free and open to the public.
Ashe is originally from Knoxville and was elected to the Tennessee House of Representatives in 1968. He was later elected to the Tennessee State Senate in 1975. In 1987, he was elected mayor of Knoxville and in 2004, he was sworn in as the U.S. Ambassador to Poland.
