Hillary Kerr and Katherine Power are both authors, co-founders of Who What Wear and insanely talented fashion pros based in the Los Angeles area.  The women have been born and bred in the fashion editorial scene.  Both hold previous experience as Associate and Creative Editors for Elle Magazine.  Kerr was a freelance writer for Nylon, Teen Vogue and Maxim.  She slightly loves words more than Louboutin, but lives for fashion just as her associate does.  Power's resume also includes top names such as Elle and Event Director at Brent Bolthouse Publications.

The two women decided they were sick of grazing the internet's gossip blogs every morning to see who was wearing what dress and carrying which new handbag.  So, not only did they write a how-to book, but they started an online how-to blog in late 2006.  They include daily reports on trends and of the moment "it" purchases that must be made. They host a style series examining how to put things together, and there is even a section to ask questions.  The site also has an option to shop their closet which comes in very handy when the newest Dolce Vita shoes cannot be found anywhere!  Just subscribe to their email list and start exploring.

Getting back to the book, WWW has ten chapters with an introduction and even an index for the unexperienced looking for advice.  The index is very helpful with commonly used words and phrases that aren't usually used outside of the fashion world like doppelganger or spanx.

After reviewing the dictionary, Kerr and Power explain that style comes by inspiration and a creative board would be quite helpful in finding preferences.  The women have an entire wall in their office dedicated to pictures of celebrities, runway shows and plain Janes on the street that know what's up.  They suggest the inspired ladies do the same, but in a slightly small version, of course.  After getting crafty comes interpretation and understanding.  The understanding they are speaking of is getting the fantasy out of reality. Choose the best body type for one's own. Short and slim like Sienna Miller, tall and curvy like Liv Tyler or even athletic like Jessica Biel.  There is hope for everyone. With their how-to tips, any woman can translate high fashion into no-fuss and find their own style.

Chapter three explores how to take runway outfits straight from Paris and NYC, and turn them into the real way.  The authors help decode fabrics to prints and patterns, and give hair and makeup tips.  Moving onward to the fourth chapter, WWW breaks down how to build a strong wardrobe and then add personal flair by mixing in current trendy pieces.  No one wants to see a girl wearing a sequined top, harem pants, an oversized scarf, costume jewelry, black platforms and a designer handbag.  It hurts the eyes.

Next is the amount of influence celebrities have and how they can ignite certain trends. In 2006, Kate Moss also sported a pair of 70's inspired high waisted blue jeans.  In the years proceeding, Mischa Barton, Hilary Duff and a heavy looking Jessica Simpson attempted the trend.  Now they can be found in the Heritage section of Forever21.  The trickle down effect is everywhere. Think Meryl Streep explaining Anne Hathaway's "lumpy" blue sweater in The Devil Wears Prada.

"What to Wear Where" comes late in the publication, but is probably the most important advice given from the two fashion authors.  There are so many different events on each person's social calendar, from fundraisers to casual dates, the list goes on and on.  This chapter is a resource guide to any occasion.  This also includes pictures, what to go for, what would be considered risky, and even what to steer clear of.

The last chapter keeps everyone staying ahead from home.  WWW has four pages of online resources that include fashion and beauty news, online retailers, magazines and the ever trusty online vintage stores.  With all these options, no one can go wrong with any of their future purchases.

Along with their beautifully crafted book and daily content on www.WhoWhatWear.com, Kerr and Power have original programming through style series such as Who What Wear TV, which made iTunes top video pod cast for 2008, alongside Oprah and Martha Stewart.  These ladies know how to do it, and their Web site has quickly gained a cult following of well dressed women around the world.  With their how-to tips, any woman can translate high fashion into no-fuss and find their own style.
