Four former UT players will be a part of Super Bowl XLIV in Miami on Sunday.

Representing the NFC champion New Orleans Saints is a trio of former Vols: cornerback Jabari Greer, wide receiver Robert Meachem and linebacker Marvin Mitchell. Former UT quarterback Peyton Manning is a member of the AFC champion Indianapolis Colts.

Manning, who was named MVP of the Super Bowl in 2007, threw for 4,500 yards and 33 touchdowns during the regular season. The Colts went 14-2 during the regular season, only losing their final two games to the the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills with many starters resting for the postseason. Indy made up for the loss to the Jets with a 30-17 win over New York in the AFC Championship Game.

Greer, Meachem and Mitchell all helped the Saints reel off 13 straight wins to open the season and ultimately defeat the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC Championship Game.

This was Greer's first season with the Saints after he spent his first five NFL seasons with Buffalo. He had 41 tackles and a pair of interceptions during the regular season despite missing seven games with an injury.

Meachem, the Saints' first round pick in 2007, had a breakout year this season. The third-year pro had 45 receptions for 722 yards and nine touchdowns during the regular season, including a stretch of five straight games with a touchdown from Week 9-13. Meachem missed his entire rookie season due to injury and had just 12 catches during his second season.

Mitchell had 23 tackles in 14 games this year, with a majority of his playing time coming on special teams.

Tennessee had a streak of 17 consecutive years with a former player in the Super Bowl end in last year's Super Bowl when neither the Pittsburgh Steelers nor the Arizona Cardinals had a former Vol in uniform.
