The UT Greek Community will partner with Habitat for Humanity during the Habitat Blitz Build from April 17-24.

According to Alison Nickle, the Greek Week chair for Alpha Chi Omega, during Habitat's Blitz Build five houses are built in seven days. Of the five houses constructed, one is built by the Greek Community.

This year marks the third year that the Greeks have participated in the Blitz Build.

Nickle, a sophomore in journalism and electronic media, said that the All Greek Habitat Build is the most popular event during Greek Week.

"We always have outstanding attendance in all the chapters. This is the thing everyone wants to be a part of," she said. "We all want to help build someone's home."

During Greek Week, chapters in the Panhellenic Council and the Interfraternity Council are paired up into teams. They are then assigned specific time slots to work on a house.

This year, sorority and fraternity members will build a house for Princess Thomas, a Knoxville resident.
