Tri Delta, among many of the other chapters that compile UT's Greek community, plans to raise money for its national philanthropy, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

In November, Tri Deltas at UT will host their annual Tri Delta Golf Classic, in hopes it will contribute to the group's impressive goal of raising $10 million by 2010. Tri Delta's original goal was to raise $10 million in 10 years; however, due to donations that exceeded expectations, the end date was changed.

We just keep hoping to raise more this year than we did the year before that and the year before that. We do it all for the kids! Alice McLallen, UT junior

"We are so excited this is all happening," UT junior Alice McLallen said. "At first, it was unreal to think about raising $10 million in 10 years, but now we are doing it in less than four. It is truly amazing to be a part of something like this."

The Delta Sigma chapter at UT boasts of not only raising more money for its national philanthropy than all other chapters at UT combined, but also has the esteemed privilege of calling themselves the top raisers of all Tri Delta chapters nationally. Last year, the Delta ladies at UT raised over $81,000.

Through letter writing campaigns and proceeds from the Golf Classic, Tri Deltas at UT are able to contribute to this astonishing goal. "We just keep hoping to raise more this year than we did the year before that and the year before that," McLallen said. "We do it all for the kids!"
