Every Tuesday through Saturday, Ijams Nature Center offers its visitors a wide variety of things to do on its 175-acre wildlife sanctuary and environmental learning center.
Five acres of trails and an interactive learning center are just a few of the services available.
"It's a great place to chill out in nature," Paul James, executive director of Ijams Nature Center, said. "Aside from educational activities, it's just a pretty place to visit."
Ijams has plenty of educational programs, too. Since 2002 they have been supporting the green movement with a series of programs called "Living Clean and Green."
These programs focus on helping bring awareness about today's environmental problems to everyone. There is a wide range of programs offered from sustainability talks to "wildscaping," a program that talks about landscape changes in order to benefit animals.
"We have lots volunteer opportunities for anyone interested in getting involved," James said.
With our future environment always a concern, it is a great opportunity to learn more about Earth and enjoy yourself at the same time.
