Defensive Coordinator Monte Kiffin may be 69 years old, but he has no plans of being done coaching soon and no plans of heading back to the NFL.

"Can you believe that somebody out there, and there's been a couple, and I'm not gonna' say who, has said that they think Monte Kiffin is going to retire so you might not want to go there and play for him because he probably won't be there," a spirited Kiffin said Thursday after practice. "Well, I'm going to tell you this right now:  I ain't retiring, OK."

Kiffin, whose defense has not given up a touchdown over the past two games, also said he's not headed back to the NFL, where he became famous for his 'Tampa 2' defense.

"And I'm not going back to the NFL. I didn't coach 25 years in the NFL to come to Tennessee to get experience to go back to the NFL. And I'm not here because of my kid and my grandkids. That may be a little bit the reason, but I'll tell you what right now, I'm going to stay here.

"I love it here and I'm going to coach here as long as I can."

Big Time Receivers

Tennessee has faced two of the SEC's best receivers the last two games in Georgia's A.J. Green and Alabama's Julio Jones and the Vols will be matching up with another big-time receiver in South Carolina's Alshon Jeffrey on Saturday. Kiffin gave high praise to the freshman that is noted for the "Gas Pumping" scandal last spring.

"When are we going to face somebody that doesn't have a good receiver? And this guy's just a rookie. And he's playing like a rookie in the NFL. He's a great receiver. They're going to him a lot," Kiffin said. "He does look like a Jones or Green or somebody we've played the last couple of weeks."

Injury Report

Head coach Lane Kiffin said junior defensive end Chris Walker will be a game-time decision with his injured back, but he is expected to play.

Kiffin also commented on Vlad Richard saying the senior guard is healthy and will play if needed.
