International week is hosted by the Student Government Association and takes place from Nov. 16 until Nov. 19.  Each day a different culture is celebrated starting with Latin America on Monday, followed by India day on Tuesday, Africa day on Wednesday, and Asian day on Thursday.

The event's goal is to help UT students experience different cultures through food, games and music, according to Assistant Director of diversity affairs and commuter senate for the Student Government Association, Punam Patel.

"UT has a broad range of students from all over the world, and this is a way for interested students to learn about different cultures.  In some ways it helps to break the stereo-typical racial wall stopping many students from interacting with people of different ethnic backgrounds," Patel said.

UT has a broad range of students from all over the world.                 Punam Patel, assistant director of diversity affairs for SGA Latin America day will be held Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Panhellenic.  The event will have free salsa lessons and snacks.

India day will be held Tuesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. also at Panhellenic.  India day will include dinner, music and Henna tattoos for $3.

Africa day will also be held in Panhellenic from 6 to 8 p.m.  It will include African art, dance and storytelling, as well as a fashion show and African food.  The cost is $3.
