As the last few weeks of the semester roll around, there are still plenty of exciting events on and around campus to help alleviate the looming stress of finals. 90.3 The Rock gives us the breakdown. Listen to WUTK's live online stream here.

This Week

Little Shop of Horrors will continue to play at the Clarence Brown Carousel Theatre through Sunday. For tickets, call the Clarence Brown Theatre box office at 865-974-5161 or Tickets Unlimited at 865-656-4444. You can also go online at http://www.clarencebrowntheatre.com/.

The Lady Vols will host the Delta State Lady Statesmen tonight at 7:00 in Thompson-Boling Arena. Tickets are available at www.uttix.com.

Join 90.3 The Rock as Peaches performs tomorrow night at The Valarium. Doors open at 7 p.m., and Men will be opening. The show is 18 and up, and tickets are available now. For more information, visit www.valarium.com.

On Friday night, the Vols will open the 2009-2010 basketball season against the Austin Peay Governors in Thompson-Boling Arena. UT students can get in free with their ID, but they still need to reserve tickets online at www.bigorangetix.utk.edu. For regular tickets, visit Thompson-Boling arena or call 865-656-1200. Also on Friday, 90.3 The Rock will sponsor The Crucible, performed by the UT Opera Theatre and the UT Symphony Orchestra. Performances are at 8 p.m. Friday and Sunday and 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. For tickets, call Tickets Unlimited at 865-656-4444 or go online at www.knoxvilletickets.com.

The rest of the month

On Wednesday, Nov. 18, 90.3 The Rock presents Badfish, a Sublime tribute band, at the Valarium. All ages are welcome, and Scotty Don't and The Mystic Roots Band will be opening the show. Tickets are available at the door.

On Thursday, Nov. 19, come out to the Valarium again to see Lucero and their "Ramblin' Roadshow and Memphis Revue," also sponsored by 90.3 The Rock. Doors open at 8 p.m., and the show is 18 and up. For tickets, visit www.valarium.com.

The Knoxville Ice Bears will host the Louisiana Ice Gators at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 27 in the Civic Coliseum. For tickets, call 865-525-7825 or go online at www.knoxvilleiceabears.com.

December

On Dec. 2, the next round of the Sound Off Battle of the Bands competition will feature Hi Lites, Sounds of Sirens, The Dirty Johns, Cain and Annabelle and Hudson K. Each band will perform two original songs and a cover, and all ages are welcome at the show. Admission is $3. Vinyl Thief won the last round and will advance to the finals on March 4, 2010.

"The Funhouse" with Rob and Derek will be live from Barley's Taproom and Pizzeria on Dec. 2 and will feature The Meat Puppets and The Dexateens. They will also be live Dec. 4 with Slobberbone and The High Score.
