Spoilers Ahead!

The latest episode of Grey's Anatomy, "Invest in Love," was like a breath of fresh air for all of us faithful viewers.  There was much less meaningless bickering, tension and angst. More heartfelt conversations, passion in the OR and, best of all, Arizona totally putting the Chief and his annoying administrative sidekick in their place.

The entire episode was laden with pediatric cases, so Arizona had to give everyone a reminder of how to work with kids.  Pediatrics, she explained, is a place of fairy dust, not I.V. bags. ''In peds, we have magic and miracles. In peds, anything is possible." In peds, we have magic and miracles, in peds, anything is possible. Dr. Arizona Robbins

The difference between peds and the rest of the hospital was immediately obvious. Wallace, a boy who has lived in the hospital for the last seven months, was dressed up as a doctor and making rounds with the doctors, doing the math for patients' drug dosages and presenting his own case when they came to his bed.

Wallace should have died over a year ago. He is living on borrowed time while they are looking for a cure, so his parents decided to make an impressive $25 million donation. Half to go to finding a cure and half for the hospital. This is in honor of their son and Arizona, whose birthday was the following day.

This made the Chief want to fulfill the parents wishes, such as operating on their son even though Arizona thought it was the worst thing to do. Arizona did operate, and Wallace did die on the table.  Then, Arizona told Chief and Administrative Dude that they were going to tell the parents their son died because otherwise, she would tell them she just killed their son.

So Arizona went back home to a surprise party where she burst into tears.  Callie followed her out and was very understanding. Arizona returned to the hospital to console the family.  Wallace's parents said that they were still making the donation, all because of how wonderful Arizona has been to them over the years.

Christina and Hunt had issues after she went rogue in surgery and pulled some of her awesome cardio moves after being told multiple times not to - did I mention newbie Jackson helped her?  Later at the flop surprise party, an inebriated Jackson told Christina how hot he thought she was and kissed her, but Christina and pushed him away and went back to the hospital to apologize to Hunt.  Christina apologized to someone without being told?  This is love.

Alex was slammed out-of-the-blue with Izzy's $200,000 of unpaid medical bills since he is now her next-of-kin. After being angry and a jerk all day, he turned into the Alex we all love when he saved a premature baby's life by cradling her next to his heart most of the day and all night.

We finally found out that Reed has the hots for Alex, despite being married and whatnot. Alex finally lets up and stops being mean to her, allowing her to sit with him during the night while he was holding the baby.

This episode turned away from the recent trend of focusing on amazing medical cases and the Chief and Derek's power dispute. It went back to everyone's relationships, being more about growing closer together instead of pulling people apart.  Plus, throwing Jackson and Reed into it, twists things up a bit.

There was only one short scene with Meredith, which made me really miss her contribution to the show and makes me very excited to have her back next week.  Speaking of returns, Izzy will be back. I await the big confrontation with Alex, along with seeing how Reed reacts to it all.

Finally to tie up a truly Grey-esque episode; Arizona came back from the hospital to Callie, who had tried to stay awake to celebrate her girlfriend's birthday.  As the show ends, Arizona tells Callie, "I love you."  Then the screen goes out and Callie replies, "I love you, too."
