Vols in the NFL: Greer's TD helps keep Saints undefeated

Quarterbacks  

Peyton Manning was 31 of 48 and finished with 347 yards for the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts beat the 49ers 18-14, improving to 7-0 on the season.

Running Backs

Jamal Lewis had 69 yards on 16 carries in the Cleveland Browns' 30-6 loss to the Chicago Bears. Lewis announced after the game that he would retire at season's end.

Offensive Linemen

Anthony Herrera helped Adrian Peterson rush for 97 yards and a touchdown for the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings defeated the Packers 38-26 in Brett Favre's return to Lambeau Field.

Scott Wells had trouble moving the Viking defensive line around. The Vikings held Green Bay Packer running back Ryan Grant to 30 yards in the Packer loss.

Wide Receivers

Kelley Washington led the Baltimore Ravens with 58 yards on four catches. The Ravens defeated the previously unbeaten Broncos 30-7.

Robert Meachem had two catches and finished with 47 yards as the New Orleans Saints' beat the Falcons 35-27 on Monday Night Football.

Tight Ends

Jason Witten hauled in four catches for 36 yards in the Dallas Cowboys' 38-17 win over the Seattle Seahawks.

Defensive Lineman

Shaun Ellis had a solid day for the New York Jets. Ellis had five tackles and 1.5 sacks as the Jets lost to the Dolphins 30-25.

Aubrayo Franklin finished with three tackles and a sack in the San Francisco 49ers' 18-14 loss to the Colts.

Leonard Little recorded three tackles and a sack for the St. Louis Rams. The Rams got their first win of the season by beating the Detroit Lions 17-10.

John Henderson had five tackles in the Jacksonville Jaguars' 30-13 loss to the Tennessee Titans. The win was the first of 2009 for the Titans.

Robert Ayers had two tackles for the Denver Broncos. The Broncos lost to the Ravens 30-7.

Linebackers

Parys Haralson had a single tackle for the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers lost to the Colts 18-14.

Defensive Backs

Jabari Greer recorded six tackles and returned an interception 48 yards for a touchdown for the New Orleans Saints. The Saints were able to hold off the Falcons 35-27 to remain undefeated.

Gibril Wilson led the Miami Dolphins with seven tackles and also recorded a sack. The Dolphins defeated the Jets 30-25.

Deon Grant finished with four tackles and had a pass deflection in the Seattle Seahawks' 38-17 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
