Today was the first time I've seen the Lady Vols basketball team on the court since their loss to Ball State in the first round of the NCAA tournament in March.
It didn't take a long to notice the team's improvement compared to last season. All the players must have worked hard in the offseason.
Practice Analysis
- Angie Bjorklund has taken her game to a new level: Passing has improved, shooting release is quicker and intensity level is up even more than last season.
- Glory Johnson's overall skill set is improved and she finished around the basket without rushing. If she can do that consistently during the season, the scouting report on her will also improve dramatically.
- Kelley Cain has a great presence under the basket but she looked a bit tentative.
- Alicia Manning's shot is even more beautiful than before. Her conditioning level has gone way up.
- Most of the newcomers appear to be able to contribute right away.
- Taber Spani hit a 3-pointer from NBA range when her defender gave her space.
- Kamiko Williams can get to the rim whenever she wants.
- Faith Dupree was in street clothes; recent media reports stated that she was suffering from back spasms.
