TNJN.com's Crime and Punishment log is a new weekly feature describing the top five crimes reported by UTPD for the previous week.  If you have any suggestions for this new feature, please share your thoughts below.

Tuesday Oct. 27th 4:54 pm

Officer was dispatched to G-12 parking lot on a reported hit and run involving a pedestrian. The victim was walking through the parking garage when a red sports car passed him at an excessive speed and hit the suspect on the back of his left leg.

Wednesday Oct. 28th 10:52 am

Officer responded to the front side of the aquatic center. The complainant stated that two full panels of construction fencing were stolen from the grassy area in front of the aquatic center.

Thursday Oct. 29th

Officers dispatched to Morrill Hall for a report of an intoxicated female. Hall staff told the officers the girl's date was passed out in the lobby. After waking up the male subject, the subject said vulgar things to the officer. The subject was placed under arrest for public intoxication and underage assumption.

Thursday Oct. 29th

While attending the Health Care Reform Rally, a victim reported that her backpack had been stolen. The backpack contained her wallet, laptop and iPod.

Saturday Oct. 31st

An officer noticed two girls, one holding a high-heel over her head, standing in the street. The officer stopped to assist them. The victim stated that a man had assaulted her and then ran into the parking garage. The officer secured the garage and searched for the male suspect. After he was found, the officer noticed he was intoxicated and underage. He was placed under arrest.
