The UT Symphony Orchestra gave their final performance of the semester Sunday at the Cox Auditorium in the Alumni Memorial Building on campus. The students and special guest performers played with enthusiasm and beautifully showcased selected music of Great Britain's composers.

  • The afternoon's music was selected from the works of Malcolm Arnold and Edward Elgar, who are both twentieth century British composers. The pieces demonstrated a range of moods and intensities, with a very distinct gracefulness that was perfectly maintained by the musicians.
  • The symphony, conducted by James Fellenbaum, consists of approximately 60 students. Sunday's performance also included eight guest artists on violin, horn, and organ.
  • The UT symphony will not perform again until February. However, on Friday Nov. 13,  the UT School of Music will present UT Opera Theatre in a performance of Robert Ward's "The Crucible," based on the play by Arthur Miller.
