Forever 21, a popular clothing line known for its inexpensive and stylish clothes, is coming to Knoxville this fall.

West Town Mall is opening its doors to the store in hopes of bringing more buyers into the mall and give the Knoxville residents and visitors another great place to shop, a mall spokeswoman said.

"We are a [nationally] competitive mall and believe that the nature of Forever 21 will be a perfect fit for our mall," Lauren Abernathy, marketing director at West Town Mall, said.

Forever 21 offers the latest fashion trends and accessories for young women and men. It carries items that are similar to clothes and accessories found at American Eagle, Urban Outfitters and Guess.

According to the Forever 21 website, it will feature new and exciting store environments, a constant surge of fun and creative clothing and accessories to make any look come together at the right price.

"I was so excited when I heard Forever 21 was coming to Knoxville," UT student Colleen Riordan said. "I use to drive to Nashville to buy clothes from Forever 21. It will be very convenient to have one right down the road."

"Because of the economy and being a college student, money is very tight," Riordan said, "The addition of Forever 21 will be great for all college students as well as anyone who loves fashion without having to pay too much."

Forever 21 is geared mainly toward teenage to young women who want to be stylish without paying a lot for clothes. Although many Forever 21 stores advertise to women, the store in Knoxville will also have a section for men.

"Men can have a sense of style too; we want everyone to find a style that fits them," Abernathy said.

Forever 21 has been expanding since 1984 when the first store was opened by by Do-Won Chang and his wife Jin-Sook in Los Angeles. There are now more than 350 stores nationwide.

"We are thrilled to have Forever 21 coming. It is a great addition to our mall," Abernathy said.

According to Abernathy, the Knoxville location will open in late August or early September.
