Graceful choreography and energetic acrobatics were just a few of the trademarks of the DanceBrazil company's performance at the University of Tennessee's Clarence Brown Theater Thursday night.

The Ritmos (or rhythms) event, performed by DanceBrazil, paid homage to the African-influenced dance/martial art style called Capoeira, which is native to Brazil.

The event, presented by the UT Cultural Attractions Committee, featured several sequences directed and choreographed by the company founder Jelon Viera. While each dance sequence was unique, they transitioned seamlessly into the next with little pause, creating a truly invigorating performance for the audience.
