This up and coming March 21 the UTK's girl rowing team will be here at Knoxville to start off the spring season against Minnesota.

The Minnesota team will be here on Saturday to do battle with UTK on the great Tennessee River.

This should be an interesting match seeings as the rowing team has been working hard in preparation for the races ahead. Many underestimate the rowing team due their lack of exposure. But upon interviewing Lorren Shadko, a varsity member of the team, it becomes blatantly clear that the girls work just as hard if not harder than many of the teams that are on campus. 

Lorren says that “ as of tomorrow”, the 28th , “ the team will be doing twice a day practices Monday through Saturday”.

With a combination of hill runs, lifting weights, and using the rowing machines the UTK team of nine-teen girls has gotten in shape for the season.

They look forward to the many up coming races and challenges that lay ahead of them and plan to meet all of them head on.
