The Lady Vols struck first and remained in the lead for the game's entirety during Thursday night's game versus Alabama. Tennessee controlled the glass, out-rebounding Alabama 46-29. Alex Fuller lead the Lady Vols' offense with a total of 18 points.
A little over nine minutes into the game, Shekinna Stricklen went down under the Tennessee basket. After several minutes, Stricklen was carried off the court. Lady Vols trainer Jenny Moshak said that despite injury to the knee cap, no ligaments were damaged. Pat Summitt is more optimistic after a day of rest for Stricklen, saying she expects the freshman to return for the game against Duke.

The Lady Volunteers ended the first half on top, 41-30. A collective nine three-pointers, good for 36 percent from behind the arc, helped UT close the door on Alabama. Tennessee's largest lead was 25 points.

At the end of the night the scoreboard read 80-61, giving the Tennessee Lady Vols their 34th consecutive win over the Lady Crimson Tide.
