In roughly six months it will be 'football time in Tennessee', again. However, the season unofficially gets underway Wednesday with the long-awaited National Signing Day.
With many top recruits remaining uncommitted, an interesting Signing Day and season awaits football fans.
Some recruits have committed or de-committed to UT while others have verbally committed elsewhere.
As National Signing Day approaches, Tennessee is hopeful in signing some of the most talented recruits across the nation.
Top names such as Marlon Brown and Nu'Keese Richardson, just to name a couple, are still possibilities for UT's '09 signing class.
Richardson, a Florida native, had quite a weekend visit, yet it wasn't enough to sway him from de-committing from his first school of choice, depending on your source.
Richardson told the News-Sentinel, he would still be a Florida Gator after signing day. However, later reports indicate his mind may not be made up.
Cornerback Michael Edwards, who committed to UT on Jan. 25, encouraged his teammate, offensive lineman Marcus Hall, to pay UT a visit, who left impressed by what he saw.
Yet even with his strong interest in UT, Hall stayed in-state and verbally committed to Ohio State.
This leaves fans to wonder how strong of a class the Vols will have with many top names committing to other schools.
However, nothing is final until Signing Day, and many Vol fans are holding their breath and remaining hopeful awaiting final decisions.
Editor's note: Head coach Lane Kiffin and assistant head coach/recruiting coordinator Ed Orgeron will speak to the media at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. TNJN.com will provide video coverage of the Signing Day Press Conference shortly after its conclusion.
