Hogan's comments bad move

It seems to me that every celebrity divorce is the same. Each party bad-mouths the other in order to get their greedy little hands on millions of dollars. The paparazzi relish in the fact that with fame comes misfortune. And celebrity news junkies, like myself, choose a side, and verbally give support, as though they are our best friends.

The divorce between former wrestler Hulk Hogan and his estranged wife of nearly 20 years, Linda,  is similar to all famous splits before them. Allegations of Linda cheating with a 19-year-old man were brought to the media's attention, and she filed for divorce shortly after.

I would think that celebrities would have divorce down to a science by now, and know what to say and what not to say. Like all juicy stories go, the rumors were true, and Linda Hogan is not only residing with her young lover, but has cut off the relationships with her children, Brooke and Nick Hogan. The cheating spouse is trying to take millions from Hulk Hogan's wrestling empire, and still live the life of a cougar.

The media have taken the side of Hulk Hogan, and have shone a very negative light on Linda Hogan, making her seem to be the adulteress we'd all like to think she is.

Hulk Hogan contributes weekly to US Weekly to give his expert opinion on other celebrity feuds. The section gives a brief synopsis of two celebrities who have feuded during the week, and then Hogan weighs in on who wins the argument. He usually picks the person who doesn't say much, usually the one who turns the other cheek.

Hogan didn't take this approach last week while doing an interview with Rolling Stone. He began talking about his divorce with his cradle-robbing wife, everything from her cheating ways, to the anger he gets when he sees the teen driving his Escalade around town.

They were typical answers for a man grieving from losing his wife to a man 30 years his senior. But then he went on to say that through this bitter divorce, he has been able to understand O.J. Simpson a lot more.

In fact, he not only said he understood why Simpson allegedly killed his wife, Nicole Brown Smith, but said he could have easily killed Linda Hogan and her teen boy toy too.

Bad move on his part, considering the divorce isn't final, and this adds evidence to Linda Hogan's depiction of Hulk Hogan as a violent and irrational man. I would think that celebrities would have divorce down to a science by now, know what to say and what not to say.

Maybe US Weekly will now reconsider his opinion. He ignored his own advice to take the high road.  Everyone will agree he lost this celebrity feud. Linda Hogan will now be laughing all the way to the bank because she not only got her cake, but she ate it too.
