Knoxville Younglife leaders will be honored for their service to the organization at an end of the year leadership party. This event will take place at 5:30 p.m. on April 24 at the Two Rivers Pavilion.
Younglife is a Christian organization that began in 1941, with the vision of making sure that each adolescent has the opportunity to meet Jesus Christ and follow him. Knoxville Younglife leaders are assigned to different high schools around the area. Their mission is to form personal relationships with the students and share the love of Christ with them through their words and actions.
The leaders will participate in a giant game of ultimate Frisbee as well as flag football. Tim Teague, the Knoxville Area Director of Younglife, will conclude the evening by speaking to the group.
"It's very rewarding for the leaders to come together and fellowship. We really learn a lot from each other and benefit from our close relationships. Plus, we spend so much of our time on the kids, its great to take a break and have someone plan something nice for us," explains Hunter Thomas, 4-year Younglife leader at South Doyle High School.
