The Tennessee men's golf team will travel to Toledo, Ohio, to play in the PING/Golfweek Preview Invitational Sept. 28-30.

The tournament is hosted by the University of Toledo and will boast some of the top-ranked teams in the country, according to Golfweek. Florida, Georgia, Southern Cal, Clemson and Alabama are among the teams that will compete for the tournament's top spot. But the Vols, now ranked No. 6 by Golfweek, seem ready for the challenge.

"We're excited, I think we have a real good team and I look forward to finishing well," said head coach Jim Kelson. "Only the top-ranked teams in the country are invited to this tournament so we're looking forward to it."

The Vols will send a very balanced team to Toledo, with leadership coming from senior Chris Paisley, who currently ranks among the top 40 players in the country. Other players such as sophomore Robin Wingardh and junior David Holmes will add strength to the Vols' game.

Tennessee goes into the tournament coming off a second-place finish at the Carpet Capital Collegiate, its  first event of the season. The Vols finished behind in-state rival UT-Chattanooga, now ranked fifth in the Golfweek standings.

"Our last tournament was a real shot of confidence," said Kelson.
