MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 15

--6:00 p.m.: Meeting of the Streets and Roads Subcommittee of the Transportation Mobility Committee. Meeting to be held at 414 W. Clinch Ave., #301.

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16

--7:45 p.m.: College Republicans Meeting in the Hermitage Room at the University Center.

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 17

--7:00 p.m.: A city-wide coalition of Knoxville neighborhoods will meet to discuss a proposed ordinance to restrict parking in front of residentially zoned districts. Members of the Knoxville City Council will be present. Meeting to be held at Redeemer Church, 1642 Highland Avenue (Highland at 17th Street).

--Nancy Reagan will present the Ronald Reagan Freedom Award to former Soviet Dissident Natan Sharansky, with remarks from Sens. John McCain and Dianne Feinstein.

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 18

--2:00 p.m.: The Wrecker Services Commission will hold a public meeting in in Room 453 of the City-County Building.

--5:00 p.m.: The Knoxville City Council Workshop will report a request on behalf of Sanders Medical Center for the closure of a portion 19th Street. The meeting will be held in the Main Assembly Room of the City-County Building.

--6:30 p.m.: College Democrats will meet at the Black Cultural Center.

--7:30 p.m.: MTV's SuChin Pak will discuss her career in television with MTV, along with her beginnings as a volunteer to help increase the youth vote in her hometown of San Francisco.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 19

--9:00 a.m.: The Board of Adjustments and Appeals will hold a public meeting in Room 511 of the City-County Building.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 20

--1:00 p.m.: The Festival of Hope, the largest event of the Get-Out-the-Vote Rally for the upcoming 2008 election, will be sponsored by the Sevier County Democratic Party and held at Walters State Community College, Sevierville Campus. Guest speakers will include Democratic candidates for U.S. Congress Rob Russell (1st District) and Bob Scott (2nd District).

--Sen. Hillary Clinton will campaign in Kentucky for the first time since her primary victory in May. Her efforts will be on behalf of Bruce Lunsford, a candidate for the U.S. Senate.
