Alternative rockers, 10 Years, will be returning to their Knoxville roots on Friday, September 12, at The Valarium.

Since 2002, this five member band of long time friends and Knoxville natives has kept busy releasing three albums and touring non-stop. Often compared to the music stylings of Tool, 10 Years is continuing to make their mark on the alternative rock scene with a uniquely progressive, hard rock sound.

10 Years first major album, The Autumn Effect, was released by Universal Records in 2005 and quickly moved its way up the charts, peaking at 72 on the Billboard 200 Chart .  The album's hit single, "Wasteland", topped the Billboard Modern Rock Charts, and the song's music video continued successfully. It was nominated for The Best Direction and Best Art Direction at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards.

10 Years most recent album, Division, was released in May of 2008. Produced by Rick Parasher, known for his work with Pearl Jam and Soundgarden, the album debuted at the 12th spot on the Billboard Top Album Chart and captured the number one spot on the Top Hard Music Chart and the number two spot on the Top Alternative Album Chart.

10 Years' band members include:

  • Jessie Hasek- lead vocals
  • Ryan "Tater" Johnson- guitar
  • Matt Wantland- guitar
  • Lewis Crosby- bass
  • Brian Vodinh- drums

10 Years' show on Friday will host a night of Knoxville talent, with opening bands Copper and The American Plague. Doors open at 7 p.m., and tickets are available through Tickets Unlimited for $16 or $18 at the door.

After Friday's show, 10 Years continues their hectic touring schedule, traveling nationwide to such major cities as Detroit, Mich. and New Orleans, La. The band is currently scheduled to perform at several more venues in the southeast for anyone unable to wait until they come back home:
