Sex is a term we are all familiar with, but some seem to squirm when the word is even uttered. Well, squirm no more. Tennessee Journalist will bring to you a weekly sex column/advice piece.
Most people wonder why sex is such a taboo topic in American society. Sex is often referred to as "bad," "taboo" and "not right," especially if you're doing it for pure recreation like countless others these days.
Now I am not saying, by any means, that we should all go out and have a big, massive UT orgy, but let's be real. There are plenty of people who don't wait till marriage to do the do.
So get with the times and face the facts, there are people who have sex just because; at least I know a few. It is good if you are waiting for your life partner, but it is not cool to frown on someone who is trying out others before they reach their life partner.
One topic that causes much confusion among people having sex is who should bring the condoms. Somehow it has been embedded in society's mind that the guy, for heterosexual couples, brings the condom. Boo!
I say if you're having sex, male or female, gay or straight, you should have a condom. You will always be better off safe than sorry. On Friday night when neither of you want to go to the store and pick up a three-pack, you will wish that you took heed to this article.
Some critics say, "Well, it is just tasteless and tacky to carry condoms around."
First, it is not like you are going to wear a sign around your neck or on your forehead that says, "I have condoms". It can be in your pocket, wallet, purse, secret backpack compartment, or anywhere that is private and that only you will know. If you are embarrassed about a natural human instinct, you should be embarrassed that you pee.If you are embarrassed about a natural human instinct, you should be embarrassed that you pee.
Secondly, critics, mainly girls, say, "What if I get the wrong size?" (Yes, there are sizes). The easy solution: use common sense and get the regular kind. People usually tend to have sex with the same "type" of person so you should be able to judge what materials you are going to need.
Granted, everyone could get the golden ticket, (XL condoms by Trojan). It wouldn't hurt to keep one of those around. Remember, it is better to be safe than sorry and upset.
If I am remembered for nothing else in this world, please remember that I advocate safe sex. If you are choosing to be sexually active, be safe each and every time, with what you're using and who you're using it with.
