UT student conquers heights from Rebecca Illig on Vimeo.

Katie O'Connell is a Lady Vols pole vaulter.  Even though she's on a team that doesn't receive much recognition, she says she puts in work just like all the other University of Tennessee athletes.

O'Connell says most of her time is devoted to some aspect of the sport, and she hopes to eventually clear 13 feet.

Clearing the bar isn't the only obstacle she faces.  Two years ago, doctors diagnosed her with spondylolysis, a spinal stress fracture that will never heal.

Despite the constant pain in her back, O'Connell continues to pursue her dream.
