Savion Glover, world-renowned tap dancer and Tony award winner, will bring his unique style of dance to the Clarence Brown Theater this Thursday at 7:30.
Hosted by the cultural attractions committee, Savion Glover's "BARE SOUNDZ" features Glover and fellow tappers, Marshall Davis Jr. and Maurice Chestnut in a performance spanning many musical genres.
Glover attempts to tie in different musical genres into a cohesive whole by using tap dance to bind them. The hour long show features music from the early days of tap to today's more contemporary sounds.
Glover is in his 27th year as a Hoofer in show business. And he has been the recipient of many different honors during his career including two Fred Astaire Awards and two Obie awards.
Tickets are available at the University center central ticket office or at knoxvilletickets.com and are priced at $5 with a valid UT student ID, $20 for UT faculty and staff, and $25 for the general public.
Tickets may also be purchased at the Clarence Brown Theater box office the night of the performance.
