Claudia J. Rawn of the University of Tennessee's Materials Science and Engineering Department will be speaking Friday, Nov. 21 at the last Science Forum of the semester.
Rawn will deliver a lecture titled Bombarding Novel New Materials with Neutrons and X-Rays. Her research emphasis includes neutron and X-ray powder diffraction, small molecule crystallography, ceramic synthesis, and structure/property relations. Rawn has also co-authored over 70 newsletter articles and technical publications.
The forum will consist of a 40-minute presentation followed by a 20-minute question-and-answer session.
The forum will be held from noon to 1 p.m. at the Thompson-Bowling Arena in dining room C-D. The event is free. While lunch is not provided, guests can pack a lunch, or purchase food at the arena to eat during the lecture.
