The University of Tennessee's student health insurance company, UnitedHealth, merged with StudentResources in August. The new company, UnitedHealth StudentResources, made changes to its policy that were affective in August.

Many students claim they did not receive notification of the changes, Allyson DeVito, a graduate teaching associate, said. They found out about the new policies either through friends, doctors' visits or prescription pick-ups.

Jim Boyle, the student health services administrator, said UnitedHealth StudentResources sent letters to everyone on the insurance plan. He said he does not understand why some say they didn't receive the letters.

Boyle said next time he will use e-mail.
