After being in a second place tie last week, Alabama is now tied for first with Texas Tech. Tech used a 56-20 victory over conference foe Oklahoma St. to remain at the top, however the Crimson Tide went into Baton Rouge and needed an extra period to defeat LSU.

Oklahoma jumps three spots to No. 5 after a 38-point victory over Texas A&M. Four new teams enter the rankings this week.
