When you travel the world you get the chance to taste different foods, share a new culture and finally sample your host countries weather.
Knoxville, Tennessee is not renowned as your typical tourist spot but when temperatures reach 100°F in the summer months it definitely attracts some of the tourists who frequent the Southern States.
Some students who have sampled the weather both here in Knoxville and across the pond in the United Kingdom have compared and contrasted the weather to what they are used to back home.
Lewis Skyers an exchange student studying at the University of Tennessee is a student at the University of Worcester, England. Since arriving in Knoxville, Tennessee he has experienced all sorts of weather, coming from England he is used to a bit of everything but unfortunately Rain and Wind is the usual weather forecast on the BBC for Ledbury, England.
Ledbury is a small medieval town in England with just under 9,000 people living in the area. It samples four season's of weather although like most places in the United Kingdom rain plays a part in everyday life.
Other exchange students who arrived in 'Big Orange Country' in August 2007 for their study abroad year have experienced all sorts of weather. Kevin from South Korea said "In Knoxville I have experienced extreme highs to extreme lows in a short period of time." This has paid a price on his pocket as he has to have the latest fashion both for all seasons, "One day I'm wearing a North Face jacket and the next I'm wearing shorts and a T-shirt, it's crazy!"
