Did you know…four No. 1 seeds are headed to Final Four

I love the smell of March Madness in the air. The upsets, the passion, the intensity; it is all a part of what makes the NCAA tournament and basketball so exciting.

As I sat and watched the NCAA tournament Sweet Sixteen on my laptop while I was supposed to be paying attention during rehearsal for the play "Stop Kiss," a commercial came on featuring Davidson College. It flashed a glass slipper, the college name, followed by Stephen Curry's name. My boyfriend, Johnathon, turned to me and, referring to the slipper, said, "What is that supposed to mean?"

I told him that the glass slipper was a reference to Davidson being the Cinderella team this year in the tournament. After shaking my head at the fact that I knew this and he didn't, I set my sights on the hope that Davidson would go all the way.

Unfortunately, Cinderella did not go to the ball. Davidson lost on Sunday to Kansas. I do love a good upset. It was exciting to watch the very close game between the two teams. Stephen Curry, originally from North Carolina, is a great player although he looks like a 12-year-old. This was a sad lost. However, it is kind of cool to see all the No. 1 seeded teams be in the Final Four for the first time ever.

If you think about it, this is how it should be. I guess the bracketologists really did their homework this year.

Memphis and North Carolina really deserve to be in the final four. These two teams are undeniably the best in the nation. They tear it up, out and inside of the arc.

For North Carolina, Tyler Hansbrough is a phenomenal presence on the court. He doesn't do it alone though. Every player on UNC brings a unique attribute to the team. I would gladly choose Duke over UNC any day, but I cannot deny that they have worked very hard and deserve to be in the Final Four.

Memphis' talent speaks for itself. I could go on and on about how good this team is, but just watch the team chemistry for 15 minutes. Anyone could immediately understand why they are a No. 1 seed.

It is funny because when they played Tennessee, I hated them, especially Andre Allen. After getting over my fan mania, I saw an awesome team. Derrick Rose is such a pivotal player for the team of all-stars. Aside from the fact that he is incredibly good looking, Rose lights up the scoreboard in a way that is extremely impressive for a freshman.

The best thing about Rose is that he is consistent. He doesn't have one good game then three bad ones. He consistently performs to the best of his abilities with an awesome team to back him up. Winning big over Texas was no fluke, it was pure talent and drive.

Notice that I haven't mentioned UCLA, the fourth team rounding out the Final Four. For some reason, I just don't like them. I can't explain why. Kevin Love is a great player and dominates on the inside. The rest of the team is obviously good or else they wouldn't be a No. 1 seed.

I feel they don't deserve to win it all. Their schedule hasn't been as difficult as the other teams. I love the show "The Hills," but UCLA just doesn't do it for me.

So whom do I predict to win it all? Like my daddy, I'm going with North Carolina. At this point, I feel like they are unstoppable. Others will probably disagree and go with UCLA or Memphis, but after UNC's season and tournament play, I think they can do it.

If UNC didn't win, I would like to see Memphis take it all. If Tennessee couldn't represent this state, it would be nice to see Memphis as the alternative.

Voice your opinions about the tournament in the comments section. Another great thing about basketball is it is controversial. If it weren't, nobody would care. Trust me.
