- Vols' Tennis: The 14th-ranked Tennessee men's tennis team went on the road and defeated the South Carolina Gamecocks 6-1 on Sunday. Tennessee's doubles team continued to dominate with its 12th victory in 13 matches. Kaden Hensel and J.P. Smith defeated USC's Pedro Campos and Johannes Pulsfort 8-0. Tennessee freshmen Matteo Fago and Jeremy Tweedt won the third doubles match 8-6 after USC took the No. 2 double's match. J.P. Smith, ranked 16th in the single's poll, defeated Diego Cubas 6-1, 6-1 to move 18-6 on singles matches this season.
- Vols' Track & Field: The Vols competed in the Virginia Tech Last Chance in Blacksburg, Va., and the Cyclone Last Chance Qualifier in Ames, Iowa. Freshman Joseph Berry cleared a personal-best height of 17 feet, 0 inches to finish eighth in the pole vault at Virginia Tech. Team captain Matthieu Pritchett won the 60-meter dash at Virginia Tech in a personal-best, NCAA provisional-qualifying time of 6.68.
- Lady Vols Tennis: The 17th-ranked Lady Vols tennis team posted a come-from-behind home victory against the 29th-ranked South Carolina Gamecocks 4-3 on Sunday. Freshman Jennifer Meredith earned her team-best third match-clinching win of the year. Samantha Orlin, sophomore Jennifer Meredith and Connor Vogel won singles matches.
Coming up
- The Vols golf sqaud will now travel to Georgia, where they will take place in the Schenkel E-Z-Go Invitational March 14-16 at Forest Heights Country Club.
- The Tennessee tennis team will next face non-conference foes Virginia Tech and UT-Chattanooga on Saturday, March 15 in Knoxville, Tenn.
- The NCAA Indoor Track Championships will be held at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Ark. next weekend.
- The 12th-ranked Lady Vols golf team will compete in the 2008 UCF Challenge at the RedTail Golf Club in Sorrento, Fla. from Sunday to Tuesday.
- The Lady Vols tennis team will spend their Spring Break in Honolulu, Hawaii for two matches with non-conference opponents. The Lady Vols will meet 10th-ranked Duke on Fri., March 15 at 4 p.m. ET, and then Hawaii at 10 p.m. ET on March 17.
