I was doing well about updating every day when I first got here and now it seems I can manage an update about once a week! Very sorry, but I've been really busy. My Finance class is in full swing and kicking my butt! You would think that grasping the concept of Finance would run in my blood and be passed on from my dad to me...well that didn't happen.
I had my first test on Thursday, no comment. Other than that, life is still good here, and I am loving every minute it of it! The weather has been better than last week and we managed to make it to the beach on Wednesday.
We have finally discovered our favorite beach, Bronte. There are less people and not as much of a tourist attraction. It is absolutely beautiful, and the waves are the biggest I have ever seen! I'm thinking of you all suffering through the cold as I lay on the sand basking in the sun (with lots of SPF on of course).
We have had the chance to hang out with our roommate, Angie, more when she isn't in class. She's taking two calculus classes (smarty pants), which occupies a lot of her time. The three of us had $7 spaghetti Tuesday night at a place called Coopers, which was really tasty but the best part is that it was cheap (for once)! Nothing is cheap here. Absolutely nothing.
Last night was one of the best nights we have had here so far. Katie and I took a chance and went to a concert with no tickets and used our wheeling and dealing tactics to buy some. So we hopped on a bus to the train station and took a train to Olympic Park. After some bargaining, we purchased two tickets on the ground floor and made our way into Telstra stadium to see...are you ready for this? Fergie and THE POLICE!!!! Yes, you read correctly!
The Police are on their reunion world tour and there was no way I could pass that up, and Fergie was awesome as well! Singing ROOXXXXAAAANNEEEE at the top of our lungs along with Sting was truly an amazing and unforgettable experience.
We were hoping for another beach day today, but I'm beginning to think the weather here is just as unpredictable an in East Tennessee. You never know what it will be like and today was overcast so I took the opportunity to do some assignments for my online classes and get ahead. ??
In other news, I cut six inches off of my hair. Yes, after much contemplation I sucked it up and did it. I was ready for a change. Change is good, if you let it be. 2008 has brought nothing but change to my life thus far and it seems only appropriate for my hair to change with it. Ok that was lame, but true in a sense. ??
I hope all is well and you all aren't freezing too much!
