Get ready for the Gators

The Tennessee men’s basketball team plays the Florida Gators on February 5 at Thompson-Boling Arena.  The question is whether or not the student turnout will match last year’s attendance.

Students supported the Volunteers by arriving to the gates over 24 hours early.  Fans created “Camp Pearl” and camped out with sleeping bags and tents.  There were various incentives to the students who arrived hours in advance.  One was an orange bracelet that saved students’ places in line, allowing them the option to attend class.  However, those who didn’t receive the bracelets skipped class for the game.

Even though Florida isn’t ranked as high as last year, chances are students will still show up early and support their Volunteers.  To give Florida the ultimate atmosphere, follow some of last year’s tips from TNJN.
