Candace Parker's leaning jumper with 22 seconds left proved to be the game-winning basket, as No. 2 Tennessee emerged with a 67-64 victory over Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium Monday night.

Parker finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds to record the 39th double-double of her career.

Duke had a chance to tie the game after Parker missed one of her two free throws with 3.4 seconds left.

A desperation heave from beyond half court was off the mark as the Lady Vols escaped with the win.

The win is the first victory over Duke for any player on the Lady Vols' roster. The Blue Devils had won three straight games over Tennessee.

Duke also saw its 24-game home win streak come to an end with the loss.

Last season the Blue Devils defeated Tennessee 74-70 in Knoxville after jumping out to an early 19-0 lead.

Duke took control early again this season and led for most of the first half after the Lady Vols led 3-2.

Parker missed her first six shots of the game and finished the opening half with just six points.

Alexis Hornbuckle, the Lady Vols' second leading scorer, was held scoreless during the first 20 minutes.

Still, UT managed to make it to the locker room with the score knotted 33-33 at the half.

After a pair of free throws from Hornbuckle early in the second half the Lady Vols would not trail again.

UT enjoyed a big advantage on the glass, outrebounding the Blue Devils 40-29.

16 of the Lady Vols rebounds came on the offensive end of the floor, helping the team overcome its 23 turnovers.

Chante Black and Jasmine Thomas led the Blue Devils with 13 points each.

The Lady Vols improved to 18-1 on the season, while the Blue Devils dropped to 15-5.

Tennessee next takes the floor at Ole Miss Thursday.

Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. with television coverage on CSS.
