Young, political and refreshingly conversational in her writings, John McCain’s daughter Meghan is a blogger.  Her days consist of following her Dad around on the campaign trail, attending rallies, entertaining interviews, goofing off and keeping track of it all online.

Her blog, McCain Blogette, is comprised of vlogs, blogs and playlists the avid music fan posts on her site.  She’s down-to-earth and accessible to her readers, taking them behind the scenes everywhere she goes and expressing herself in music when she isn’t able to explain the excitement of winning the South Carolina primary.

"I've been racking my brain trying to figure out a way to tell everyone how it felt for my dad to win the primary last night in South Carolina.  Anyone who wants to know should listen to U2's song Elevation to understand what it felt like last night," she writes.

While Meghan is able to give her readers access behind the scenes, she's also able to give a window of why so many moderates and undecided voters settled on John McCain over Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton in the primary elections.

I do think he's open to crossing party lines to find an answer ... and that's the key to moving forward in the future. Meghan McCainMeghan graduated from Columbia University with a degree in art history, lived in New York City for the past three years and says she not "completely correlated" with her dad's views.

"I do think he's open to crossing party lines to find an answer...and that's the key to moving forward in the future," she says in an interview with Meettheprez.

Meghan gives readers access to her Mom goofing off of with her in their hotel room and other things that older people are not generally interested in, like hotel perks: the huge bowl of candy in the hotel room, the personalized pillows on her mom and dad's bed, popping open champagne after another primary win and getting to see the inside of all the neat places they spend the night.

Though her blog isn't officially part of the McCain campaign, and she doesn't offer political analyses or trashtalk any of the other candidates, it's still a different and fun way to keep up with a presidential cadidate on the rumble-and-tumble political trail.

Patricia, think you might be able to interview Meghan? It would be awesome to find out how she got into blogging and ask her if she sees it as a "career"? How does she measure her success? How does her dad and his PR cronies feel about her blogging? Has she ever been asked to take a post down or not post something?
