Sen. John McCain denied accusations made by The New York Times that claimed he gave favors for and possibly having an extramarital affair with lobbyist Vicki Iseman in a news conference on Thursday.

"I'm very disappointed in the article. It's not true," the Arizona senator said.

While McCain rebutts the Times article, the company stands by its article for the time being, according to MSNBC.com.

"We think the story speaks for itself," Bill Keller, executive editor of The New York Times said.

In other campaign news, former President George H.W. Bush and former presidential hopeful, Gov. Mitt  Romney, officially endorsed Sen. John McCain.

On Valentine's Day, former opponent Gov. Mitt Romney endorsed Sen. John McCain for the republican nomination.

"Even when the contest was close and our disagreements were debated, the caliber of the man was apparent." Romney said.

Four days later, Bush 41 also endorsed the senator for the republican nomination.

 Kosovo declared its independence from Serbia Sunday which has caused violence and protests throughout Serbia.

 

 From this day onwards, Kosovo is proud, independent and free. Prime Minister of Kosovo Hashim Thaci"The day has come," said Hashim Thaci, Prime Minister of Kosovo, "From this day onwards, Kosovo is proud, independent and free."

Many countries including Britain, France and the United States have acknowledged Kosovo's independence.

While support for Kosovo has been shown throughout Europe, Russia has frowned on the decision

Fidel Castro, president of Cuba, resigned Tuesday due to his ailing health conditions and physical inability to control the government.

"My wishes have always been to discharge my dutities to my last breath," he said. "It would be a betrayal to my conscience to accept a responsibility requiring more mobility and dedication than I am physically able to offer."

After his resignation, his brother Raul officially assumed control of the nation, though he has been in control since Fidel fell ill.

There is quite a contrast here isn't there? Real news like Kosovo next to silly trumped up tabloid news put out by the rag the New York Times has become. The article does speak for itself but not in the way he meant for it to and I am not a McCain supporter.

I can't believe all we're left with is Hilary, Obama and McCain. We threw out Romney for these three? It's like the old requirements of competence, family values, intelligence and achievement have all been thrown out in favor of their opposites. An ex-con who cheats on his wife and used to deal drugs lives next to my brother. Maybe he should run for President.
