Sen. Barack Obama won both Democratic primaries, Wisconsin and Hawaii, held on Tuesday, Feb. 19. The Illinois senator's Hawaii win marked his tenth straight victory since Feb. 5 and he is now out in front of his final opponent, Sen. Hillary Clinton.

Clinton is now facing a major deficit in national polls and will need to perform well in the Ohio and Texas primaries on March 4. If Clinton loses both of the primaries, she will likely be heavily pressured by democrats to drop out so Obama can begin a campaign  for the general election against the likely Republican nominee, John McCain.

Barack ObamaAt a rally in Houston Tuesday night, after the Wisconsin votes were counted, Obama addressed a crowded town hall of thousands. "I know that some people have been looking through my kindergarten papers, but that's not why I decided to run. I'm not running because I think it's somehow owed to me," he said, lashing out at Clinton.

Obama gained 38 delegates from Wisconsin and 14 in Hawaii. Clinton picked up 27 and 4, respectively. Obama now leads Clinton in delegate total approximately 1,315 to 1,245. 2,025 delegates are necessary to guarantee the democratic nomination.
