As I do every week, I have sorted through the television listings to find which sporting events to make sure to watch and which ones you can pass on.

This week should provide tons of excitement as college basketball brings us 20 games worth checking out, including this season's game of the year between Memphis and Tennessee.

The NBA, PGA Tour and NASCAR all have big events to look out for as well.

Monday

Men's College Basketball: Syracuse at Louisville, 7 p.m. on ESPN

Syracuse ended a two-game losing streak by beating Georgetown Saturday. The win helped Louisville move into a tie with the Hoyas at the top of the Big East. The Cardinals win over Providence on Saturday stretched their winning streak to six games.

Men's College Basketball: Xavier at Rhode Island, 7 p.m. on CSS

Xavier stands at 9-1 in conference play having won seven straight games. Six players average double figures in points for the Musketeers. The Rams have not lost at home this season and are led by senior Will Daniels' 18.4 points per game.

World Wrestling Entertainment: Monday Night Raw, 9 p.m. on USA

You can usually count on Vince McMahon and Co. to put on a good show the night after a pay-per view. Check in to USA to see the fallout from No Way Out and find out if there's a new champion.

Men's College Basketball: Texas A&M at Texas, 9 p.m. on ESPN

A&M took care of the Longhorns when the teams met in College Station late last month. Since that game Texas has won five straight games, while the Aggies just saw their five-game win streak end at Oklahoma State.

Men's College Basketball: Gonzaga at San Diego, 11 p.m. on ESPN

San Diego has been a surprise team in the WCC, getting off to an 8-1 start in conference play after pulling an upset of Kentucky at Rupp Arena earlier this year. Gonzaga is tied with St. Mary's atop the conference with a 9-1 mark.

Tuesday

Men's College Basketball: Purdue at Indiana, 7 p.m. on ESPN

Purdue won twice last week to extend its win streak to 11 games. Indiana responded to its recent controversy with a big win over Michigan State in Bloomington. The Hoosiers could be without D.J. White as he suffered a knee injury against the Spartans.

Men's College Basketball: Georgia at Kentucky, 9 p.m. on ESPN

I'm not really sure this is worth watching, but it's pretty much the only option late Tuesday. Despite getting blown out at Vandy last week the Wildcats find themselves alone at second in the SEC. Georgia has lost six of its past seven games.

Wednesday

Men's College Basketball: North Carolina at North Carolina State, 7 p.m. on ESPN

N.C. State has dropped three straight conference games to fall into the bottom four of the ACC. Freshman J.J. Hickson had 23 rebounds in his last game and leads the Wolfpack in points and rebounds on the year. UNC is still waiting for point guard Ty Lawson to return from injury.

NBA Basketball: Lakers at Suns, 9 p.m. on ESPN

Shaq's debut should finally come in this game, and it's fitting that it comes against Kobe Bryant and the Lakers. Bryant is fighting through an injured pinkie with his team's renewed title chances.

Thursday

Women's College Basketball: Tennessee at Alabama, 7 p.m. on CSS

The Lady Vols look to extend their conference road win streak to 16 games in Tuscaloosa. They might not have much trouble as Alabama sits dead last in the SEC with a 1-10 record and 10 straight defeats.

Men's College Basketball: Pittsburgh at Notre Dame, 7 p.m. on ESPN

Notre Dame will look to extend one of the nation's longest home winning streaks against Pittsburgh. The Panthers, on the other hand, have struggled away from home lately, losing to Marquette and Connecticut by a combined 35 points.

Men's College Basketball: Massachusetts at Rhode Island, 7 p.m. on ESPN2

The Rams will be televised for the second time this week when they take on UMass. The Minutemen are led by the two-headed monster of Gary Forbes and Ricky Harris, who combine to average over 38 points per game.

NBA Basketball: Sonics at Blazers, 10:30 p.m. on TNT

Kevin Durant and the Sonics square off with the team that passed on the talented youngster in last year's draft. The Blazers currently sit at ninth in the West and are fighting for their playoff lives.

Men's College Basketball: Oregon at Southern Cal, 11 p.m. on FSN

Two bubble teams out of the Pac 10 square off late night in Los Angeles. O.J. Mayo and the Trojans are dealing with the loss of point guard Daniel Hackett, while the Ducks have yet to find any rhythm this season and sit below .500 in conference play.

Friday

Men's College Basketball: Winthrop at Davidson, 7 p.m. on ESPN2

The leader of the Big South travels to take on the top team from the Southern Conference in a Bracket Buster game. Stephen Curry averages 25.6 points per game for Davidson, good for fifth in the nation. Senior guard Michael Jenkins leads Winthrop.

NBA Basketball: Wizards at Cavaliers, 8 p.m. on ESPN

A potential playoff match-up is previewed in the first game of ESPN's Friday night doubleheader. Cleveland's LeBron James and Daniel Gibson stole the show during All-Star weekend and look to carry the momentum into the second half of the season.

NBA Basketball: Celtics at Suns, 10:30 p.m. on ESPN

The Celtics led the Eastern Conference the entire first half of the season while the Suns finished the first half just percentage points behind New Orleans for the West's top spot. This could be a preview of the NBA finals.

Saturday

Men's College Basketball: Connecticut at Villanova, Noon on ESPN

Villanova bounced back from its unjust defeat at Georgetown by winning at St. John's. Scottie Reynolds leads the Wildcats with 16.6 points per game. UConn escaped at USF to extend its win streak to nine games.

Men's College Basketball: Creighton at Oral Roberts, 3 p.m. on ESPN2

Oral Roberts has yet to lose at home this season and stands at 13-1 in the Summit League entering the week. Creighton has been far more average than expected this season and enters the week at 8-7 in the Missouri Valley Conference.

Men's College Basketball: Drake at Butler, 5 p.m. on ESPN2

This is the marquee game for Bracket Buster weekend as it matches the two highest ranked mid-majors in the country. Guards Josh Young and Leonard Houston lead Drake, while Mike Green leads four double figure scorers for Butler.

Men's College Basketball: Tennessee at Memphis, 9 p.m. on ESPN

College basketball's game of the year features two team's from the state of Tennessee. Who would have thought the eyes of the college basketball world would be on Tennessee before Bruce Pearl arrived three years ago? Barring a surprise these teams will be ranked No. 1 and No. 2 entering the contest.

Men's College Basketball: Arizona at Washington State, 10 p.m. on FSN

Washington State has bounced back from three straight losses with a three-game win streak and sits alone in third place in the Pac 10. Arizona has dropped three of its past four games and is now 6-6 in conference play.

Men's College Basketball: Kent State at St. Mary's, Midnight on ESPN2

The last televised Bracket Buster features the leaders of the Mid-American and West Coast Conferences. Al Fisher and Mike Scott each average at least 13 points for KSU, while Patrick Mills leads St. Mary's with 14.7 points per game.

Sunday

PGA Tour Golf: WGC-Match Play Championship, 2 p.m. on NBC

The finals of the PGA's biggest match play tournament start Sunday's sports action. We can hope for a Tiger Woods-Phil Mickelson final, but I won't be holding my breath for that to happen. Henrik Stenson defeated Geoff Ogilvy in last year's finals.

NBA Basketball: Pistons at Suns, 2:30 p.m. on ABC

Phoenix faces its third title contender of the week when the Pistons travel to the desert. Detroit enjoys a 10-game lead over Cleveland in the Central division, while Phoenix is locked in a battle with the Lakers and Warriors in the Pacific division.

Women's College Basketball: Mississippi State at Tennessee, 2:30 p.m. on FSN

The Lady Vols face another of the SEC's worst teams when Mississippi State comes to Knoxville. The Bulldogs are just 3-8 in conference play. UT will be looking for its first home win since the controversial win over Rutgers last week.

NASCAR Racing: Sprint Cup Auto Club 500, 3:30 p.m. on FOX

Ryan Newman will look to build on his first Daytona 500 victory when the Sprint Cup travels to California for its next race. Matt Kenseth won last year in this race, while teammates Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson finished second and third, respectively.

Men's College Basketball: Wisconsin at Ohio State, 4 p.m. on CBS

Ohio State's bubble probably got a whole lot softer with its loss at Michigan, but a win over the Badgers would go a long way toward improving their resume for tourney time. Bo Ryan's Badgers are just one game out of the Big 10 lead.

SPHL Hockey: Columbus at Knoxville, 5 p.m. on MyVLT2

Here's an opportunity to check out Knoxville's own professional hockey team without even leaving the couch. The Ice Bears currently lead the Southern Professional Hockey League and will look to beat the cellar-dwelling Columbus Cottonmouths.

NBA Basketball: Bulls at Rockets, 8 p.m. on ESPN

The Rockets have improved their play and might fit into the West's playoff picture, while the Bulls were disappointing in the season's opening half. Still, Chicago is just a 1.5 games out of the eighth playoff spot in the watered-down East.

"Sunday: This will be Tennessee's first home game since its controversial win over Rutgers."

That is not a true statement. The Lady Vols played LSU at home just 3 days after the Rutgers game before hitting the road.
