Niles Maddox and William Payne, two local songwriters, singers and guitar players, have joined together to start a new band, I Sing the Body Electrc .

I Sing the Body Electrc is two-man operation. Both musicians take the wheel when it comes to singing, writing and playing guitar. Maddox and Payne describe their music as indie/experimental, but think that most people could get into their sound.

Maddox and Payne write all of their own music. They actually say they try to sit down and write one song each day. "I think we write music because we have to, it's how we deal," Payne says.

Both Maddox and Payne grew up in Nashville and have recently moved to Knoxville. Although the two never knew each other before they were introduced through mutual friends and are now roommates. 

When asked to comment about what makes the band unique Payne says,"I wouldn't say we are unique in any way. We are two dudes writing music in our apartment. If people dig it then that's cool with us."

As for upcoming shows the guys say that dates are still in the works. Payne says to look for them around May. Payne also says that the shows will have a certain aura, "Our record is an art concept, our show will be as well," Payne says.
